• BUCKLE collars are a quick-release type that separates when sides are pressed. These are Wienerlock buckles, made in the USA by the National Molding Co. and are of high quality. Buckles are available in all 5 sizes. MARTINGALE collars are a slip-on type. They do not have buckles. They are only available in medium, large and extra large. They are designed to tighten around the neck when the dog pulls. When fitted correctly they are safe and may even offer an advantage when it comes to control.

• PROPER FITTING is key to a safe and comfortable collar. Measure the dog's neck by using a fabric tape measure or a string and a ruler. Make sure that you can comfortably get two fingers between the measuring tape (or string) and the dog's neck. For BUCKLE collars, use the exact measurement to make your selection. For MARTINGALE collars, subtract 2 inches from your measurement to make your selection.
